Heath Ledger

Check this out: Heath Ledger Death: Baptist Group To Protest At Memorial

The group mentioned in the article above have a history of crazy protests
and this latest one is just one in a long line. Clearly the way they are going about what they are doing is very wrong, and yet they seem to think that by what they are doing they are bringing glory to God.

This story is all over the internet, and everywhere these people are described as a Christian group. What a bad message to be sending out to non-Christians, that this is the way we behave.

"Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us" 2 Corinthians 5:20 (ESV)

I was wondering whether we should put Paisley Jr in touch with them!

I think the despicable actions of this group remind us how careful we must be when we confront sin in our society to do so in a sensitive and loving way whilst not being prepared to turn a blind eye to it. We need to remember there go i but for the grace of God.

Ian Paisley Jrs comments were accurate; if anything they were too soft - it is not in the same league as what these people are doing - remember the open toleration of Sodomy brings down God's judgment on a society that promotes it, therefore, Ian Jr was correct in what he said.

Moreover what is deemed "loving" must be determined Biblically, as love is the fulfilling of the law, not as our pagan society defines it.

My first comment was in jest.
It is not "in the same league" as what these people are doing but my problem with the comments of Paisley Jr in the past is that he focusses so much on homosexuality. Sodomy and fornication are regarded as equal sins in Scripture whay doesn't Paisley Jr speak out against those living together out of wedlock declaring it to be an abominable sin? Would it lose him too many votes? I think we need to be careful about how we confront sin in society that when we speak out against sin we do not become too like this American group.

That is an excellent point; Christians are often accused of being "homo-phobic", but we should be just as much adultro-phobic - Sodomy is just a greater degree of degeneration (Rom. 1). As you observe, Paisley Jr does not say much about this...I wonder why?
